When you’re traveling internationally, you most likely want to keep in touch with family and friends back home, as well as your travel buddies and new friends that you meet along the way.
Well, staying in touch has gotten a lot easier!
WhatsApp Messenger is a FREE app that you can download for your smartphone that uses your WiFi connection (or mobile data when not on WiFi) to allow you to send messages, images, audio or video without having to use an international phone plan.
You can also make voice and video calls without incurring international charges as well.
WhatsApp lets you text and call other WhatsApp users while you’re traveling internationally – whether they’re in the same country as you or a different country.
This was a game changer for me when I first learned about it so I like to share it with all my clients to make sure they're aware of it before they travel.
I love using WhatsApp for group chats with the people I’m traveling with or for calling back home, but it also SUPER helpful for communicating with transportation companies, excursion companies, etc. without having to worry about international fees.
The interface is super easy to navigate, and I like that it uses my existing contacts so I don’t have to re-enter anyone’s info, if they're already stored in my regular phone contacts.
