Azul Negril Wedding Review With Breanna & Derek
Why did you decide to have a destination wedding?
We both love to travel and loved the idea of bringing all of our loved ones together to celebrate while enjoying a vacation with everyone.
What were your biggest concerns about planning a destination wedding? What were you struggling with the most before reaching out to EverAfter Travel?
I was really worried about planning a wedding from afar and struggling with deciding on a venue.
What were your "must haves" for your destination wedding? What were the deciding factors for choosing your resort?
Beach, affordable, good food and atmosphere.
Tell me about your wedding e.g. events, venues, special touches, etc. How many guests did you invite to your destination wedding and how many people ended up attending? If you're comfortable sharing, how much was the total cost of your destination wedding celebration (not including things like travel expenses, your dress, etc.)?
We chose the Exclusively You wedding package. Our ceremony was on the rooftop terrace and we had our reception right on the beach. We had a rehearsal dinner, went on a party tiki boat one day, did a catamaran cruise and cliff diving with everyone, and hosted a s’mores bonfire one night as well. We invited 100 guests and 75 were able to come. Spent about $50K+ probably overall.
Was there anything you splurged on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
The extra activities and these were most definitely the best part.
Was there anything you tried to save on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
Nope.
What were your favorite parts about your destination wedding?
Everything!!
Is there anything you would change about your destination wedding?
No, nothing.
What were the most helpful online websites/social media groups/content creators/YouTube links that helped you during the planning process?
The Knot and just a whole lot of Googling. Once I found a floral/planner, she helped orchestrate everything else and had a lot of contacts.
What advice do you have for other couples planning a destination wedding?
I think working with a wedding planner who is local to the area is very helpful instead of just going through the resort. Saved a lot of money and ended up with a lot of good contacts and vendors.
What kind of feedback did you hear from your guests? This could be about the resort, the wedding, and/or EverAfter Travel.
Everyone had a great experience and Jodi did great making sure people were taken care of.
How did working with EverAfter Travel make planning your Azul Negril wedding easier/better/less stressful?
It was excellent all around!!
