Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres Wedding Review: Sydney & Derek
Why did you decide to have a destination wedding?
We wanted to spend more time with our friends and family vs. just the one day :) And budget/cost. We also love Mexico and wanted to share that love with our friends and family as well.
What were your biggest concerns about planning a destination wedding? What were you struggling with the most before reaching out to EverAfter Travel?
Deciding the correct location and resort for us - there are so many options and so many different offerings/pricing.
What were your "must haves" for your destination wedding? What were the deciding factors for choosing your resort?
An 18+ resort, fun and good food. We wanted to have it be reasonably affordable and have different pricing options. It was important that the resort was easy to get to for guests.
Tell me about your wedding e.g. events, venues, special touches, etc. How many guests did you invite to your destination wedding and how many people ended up attending? If you're comfortable sharing, how much was the total cost of your destination wedding celebration (not including things like travel expenses, your dress, etc.)?
We had 60 people and did our ceremony and reception on the beach. It was unbelievable and we loved it!
The dance floor was in the middle of the beach surrounded by tables and chairs and then under string lights. The weather was PERFECT and the service was incredible.
Total for everything for the wedding was about $8,000 (that included a welcome party and the discount for how many people we had attend!).
Everything ran so smoothly and was beautiful!
Was there anything you splurged on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
We did the welcome party and rented the beach area- SO WORTH IT. Our families got to mingle and meet friends etc. and everyone had a great time :)
Was there anything you tried to save on for your destination wedding and if so, did you feel like it was worth it?
Nothing really - we didn't utilize the spa for hair and makeup and that was definitely worth it.
What were the most helpful online websites/social media groups/content creators/YouTube links that helped you during the planning process?
The Facebook group Jodi suggested was wonderful. The full name of this group is: "Destination Wedding Brides (No Soliciting; Not mail order brides;readrules)"
Shout out to any wedding vendors you loved e.g. photography, DJ, makeup, etc.
My photographer came with us - Cait 'n Her Camera, and she was AMAZING. The flowers were also really gorgeous and the wedding planner, Estefania, made sure everything ran smoothly and was great.
What kind of feedback did you hear from your guests? This could be about the resort, the wedding, and/or EverAfter Travel.
Some of our guests didn't have a smooth experience with the initial check-in process and the air conditioning in one guest's room didn't get cold enough.
What advice do you have for other couples planning a destination wedding?
DO IT! You will have forever memories of spending time with your family and friends, awesome stories and photos, and people will be talking about how much fun they had forever :) It was so perfect and stress-free compared to traditional wedding route, and we will cherish the week we had forever.
What were your favorite parts about your destination wedding?
Being with our family and friends in an AWESOME resort and spending time with everyone. The weather was perfect and the wedding part was gorgeous!
Is there anything you would change about your destination wedding?
No, everything was amazing :)
Why did you choose to work with EverAfter Travel for your destination wedding?
I found EverAfter Travel when I was searching on Google and Jodi was great to work with and had awesome advice :) I also like to work with local businesses.
How did working with EverAfter Travel make planning your Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres wedding easier/better/less stressful? Would you recommend EverAfter Travel to other couples planning a destination wedding?
Yes I would recommend Jodi to anyone! The wedding website she created and the guidance she had was awesome, and she was able to help manage family members (and friends) and help with travel/questions.

We had no idea where, when, or how... we wanted to get married somewhere tropical and she truly held our hand throughout the whole process and helped everywhere and anywhere.
Our wedding was perfect, seamless, and something we will cherish/remember forever. Our family and friends rave about the week we all spent together and how easy and fun it was!
We can't thank Jodi enough for how amazing she was and how easy everything was :)
